At Boldport we want you to have safe and rewarding experiences with our products and services. Please read the following carefully. By using our services and products you acknowledge that these details are familiar to you, and that you agree to them.

In addition to this document our Privacy and personal data policy describes how we handle personal data. Please read through them.

OUR PROJECTS

'Projects' are soldering kits, bare circuit boards, or other items to do with electronics and/or associated materials. Examples of projects are shown in the shop and our community site. Those may give an indication to what you may expect future projects to be like.

We do not and cannot guarantee that any project will have particular attributes or that it will be to your liking.

Our projects are not toys and may contain tiny parts. Our projects are intended for use by adults.

WHO ARE OUR SERVICES AND PROJECTS FOR

We create projects that are intended for those who have at least some electronics and soldering experience and knowledge. For example, some projects require surface-mount soldering or looking up details in a component's datasheet. They may not be suitable for beginners unless they are helped by someone experienced.

SAFETY ─ THIS IS IMPORTANT!

Safety is the sole responsibility of whoever builds and uses our services and projects; only they can determine whether they have the adequate skill, experience, tools, and materials to do so in a safe manner. Tools (such as soldering irons), materials (such as solder), and other resources (such as electricity) that are required to complete and use our projects may be dangerous unless used properly with appropriate precautions and safety gear.

Some photos and videos and written materials that appear on our websites or video channels may not depict all safety precautions or equipment in order to show the project assembly steps more clearly.

Use of the instructions, kits, projects and suggestions on our websites and on our Discord community is at your own risk. Boldport disclaims all responsibility for any resulting damage, injury, or expense. It is your responsibility to make sure that your activities comply with applicable laws, including copyright. Always check the webpage associated with each project before you get started as there may be important updates and/or corrections.

Should the skill for assembling a project be beyond your abilities or comfort, contact us for a return and full refund.

MEMBERSHIP

Membership of the Club is gained by making a £30 or more purchase from the Club shop in a single transaction or accumulated sum of several purchases. The main benefit is access to all the channels of our Discord server. Membership does not expire, but may be revoked or cancelled at any time without notice.

COSTS, RENEWALS, CHARGING, AND SHIPPING

Membership auto-renews on a rolling basis unless cancelled, or when chosen not to renew when gifting a subscription. We charge your preferred payment method on the 28th of each month. Membership costs may change in the future; we will communicate such changes ahead of time via email. Membership cost and other purchases are inclusive of 20% VAT where applicable. The fee does not include import tax or other duties, which will need to be handled by the recipient.

We ship from the UK using ‘standard shipping’ (that is, untracked). The service we use indicates that delivery will typically arrive within 2 working days in the UK, 3─5 days within Europe, and 5─7 days elsewhere. This isn’t guaranteed. From experience, however, it may take up to a month in some areas.

We only ship twice a month.

PROHIBITED USES

In addition to other prohibitions set here, you are prohibited from using the site and its content and our products: (a) for any unlawful purpose; (b) to solicit others to perform or participate in any unlawful acts; (c) to violate any international, federal, provincial or state regulations, rules, laws, or local ordinances; (d) to infringe upon or violate our intellectual property rights or the intellectual property rights of others; (e) to harass, abuse, insult, harm, defame, slander, disparage, intimidate, or discriminate based on gender, sexual orientation, religion, ethnicity, race, age, national origin, or disability; (f) to submit false or misleading information; (g) to upload or transmit viruses or any other type of malicious code that will or may be used in any way that will affect the functionality or operation of the services or of any related website, other websites, or the Internet; (h) to collect or track the personal information of others; (i) to spam, phish, pharm, pretext, spider, crawl, or scrape; (j) for any obscene or immoral purpose; or (k) to interfere with or circumvent the security features of the services or any related website, other websites, or the Internet. We reserve the right to terminate your use of the services or any related website for violating any of the prohibited uses.

DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES; LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

We do not guarantee, represent or warrant that your use of our services and products will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free.

We do not warrant that the results that may be obtained from the use of the services or products will be accurate or reliable.

You agree that from time to time we may remove the service for indefinite periods of time or cancel the service at any time, without notice to you.

You expressly agree that your use of, or inability to use, our services and products is at your sole risk. The service and all products delivered to you through the service are (except as expressly stated by us) provided 'as is' and 'as available' for your use, without any representation, warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including all implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.

In no case shall Boldport, our directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, interns, suppliers, service providers or licensors be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including, without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the service or any products procured using the service, or for any other claim related in any way to your use of the service or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the service or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the service, even if advised of their possibility. Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United Kingdom.

CHANGES TO TERMS OF SERVICE

You can review the most current version of the Terms of Service at any time at this page. We reserve the right, at our sole discretion, to update, change or replace any part of these Terms of Service by posting updates and changes to our website. It is your responsibility to check our website periodically for changes. Your continued use of or access to our website or services following the posting of any changes to these Terms of service constitutes acceptance of those changes.
